Club Meetings

All meetings are held at the Village Hall in Burnham on Crouch (2 Arcadia Road, CM0 8EF). Doors open at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start. All ages and experiences welcome.

£2 for club members, £3 for non-members under 16s £1. All under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Tuesday 10th December - The Science of the Martian.

Courses

We run courses for beginner and those wanting to learn a little more.

An introduction to astronomy.

Saturday 7th September, 10am - 3pm.

We will learn about different astronomical terms, objects, telescopes and mounts. We will also cover how to take pictures of the night sky with DSLR cameras.

£15 per person. Tea and coffee provided. There will be a break for lunch, there are plenty of places locally to buy a sandwich or bring your own.

Telescope Workshop. If you've had a telescope for a while and don't know where to start, come along where we will show you the difference between the front and the back of the scope and generally tell you to throw the barlow in the bin! £10 per telescope. email us to book.

Observing

We get together from time to time to view the skies through the club telescopes. Members often bring their own equipment for use. Booking is essential.

Monday 12th August, 9pm on - Annual club Perseid meteor shower watch.

No equipment needed other than warm clothes and a blanket or chair to get together and watch one of the best meteor showers of the year. Bring a DSLR and a tripod and we can help you capture a meteor on "film".

Saturday 19th October, 7pm on - Club viewing.

Saturday 23rd November, 7pm on - Club viewing.
